¡Mayday x Murs!’s Bitcoin Beezy is music to Bitcoiners’ ears. Yep, that’s right, Bitcoin has made it to the rap scene.
The song was officially released today on the album ‘MursDay’ by the hip hop group.
Bitcoin has steadily been making its way more and more into pop culture. You can get a caricatures in Rembrandtplein, Amsterdam and other paintings online. Just last week 50 Cent (770 bits), announced that his latest album Animal Ambition would be availble for purchase with Bitcoin.
In March, the first ‘bitcoincert’ took place in Texas. Tatiana Moroz, who performed there, even released an artist coin called Tatiana coin for crowd funding powered by CoinPowers.com. TatianaCoins will be able to be used for Tatiana ‘swag’ such as t-shirts, autographed albums, and perhaps even performances if you manage to get your hands on enough.
It certainly seems like Bitcoin is going more and more mainstream, and even though the group is no Kanye West, they are still making waves — on the air waves.
The first line of the song: “I got a condo in Miami” got me hooked, personally, being a Miami native myself. But my favorite line of the song, although a little forward-thinking considering the price of bitcoin right now, is: “I got fifty bitcoin worth about a hundred grand.”
