Just launched today is the Bitcoin Alliance of Canada (BAC), with a self-described “new community building platform and membership structure” that aims to promote mass-understanding and acceptance of the digital currency in Canada.
At the helm of the Toronto-based organization is executive director Anthony Di Iorio, who previously founded a Bitcoin gambling venture. Six other individuals compose the BAC’s board, which are divided into nine committees:
“Membership, Marketing, & Fundraising; Accounting & Audit Policy; Legal & Regulatory; Bylaws; Public Relations and Education; Website; Merchant & Commercial Relations; Expo & Events; and Technical.”
