Circle Internet Financial, a Boston-based company led by Jeremy Allaire hoping to transform payment processing for bitcoin, just got a board member who already serves on boards of prominent companies.
She is Michele Burns, and she is presently the CEO of human resources consulting company Mercer. Aside from that, Burns serves on the board of Goldman Sachs and Cisco. But that’s not all. She’s also on the board of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and formerly serves on Wal-Mart’s board, so if there’s someone with some familiarity of the tech and finance industries, it’s Burns.
Circle Internet Financial reportedly declined to comment on the matter, but according to CNN Money, “Two sources with knowledge of her move confirmed it.”
It is unclear when Circle when commence their services, but the company is seemingly going strong, having recently received a whopping $9 million venture capital investment. (via CNN Money)
