Institutional bitcoin trading platform Atlas ATS announced on Monday that they’re extending bitcoin trading to Europe through a strategic partnership.
The New York City company has join hands with Madrid-based Recol Pro S.A. to make the platform available to European investors looking to get into the digital currency markets.
Atlas ATS Europe, as it’s called, will allow these investors to trade bitcoin and other digital currencies, trade options on both bitcoin and litecoin, and have access to a multi-signature wallet. In other words, services already offered to Atlas ATS clients in both the United States and Hong Kong.
Recol is the operator of RBEX, and investors who hop aboard to Atlas’ services will have Euro-denominated accounts and ATM access (though access to ATM is only available in Spain for the time being).
The trading book for Atlas ATS Europe will be directly linked with the order book used for United States investors, which provides a deeper liquidity pool.
“Recol is positioning itself to be a global operator in the Bitcoin ecosystem and Atlas ATS Europe is a key part of that strategy,” said Recol CEO Ignacio Ozcariz. “In order for Bitcoin and other digital currencies to gain wide acceptance, customers need trusted financial firms to offer them three key components–a trading platform to buy and sell digital currency, a secure wallet to store digital currency, and an ATM network through which customers can access their accounts and convert their digital currency into local currency when they need to. Atlas ATS Europe is going to be part of the most complete, most convenient digital currency service around.”
“The Atlas ATS mantra is ‘global/local,’ which means offering a trading platform all over the world by partnering with select financial institutions that know their own markets,” added Atlas ATS CEO Shawn Sloves. “By partnering with Recol, we are able to offer Atlas ATS in Europe, a key goal of ours.”
Accounts are presently being opened on the service, but an official launch won’t be made until Fall of this year.
