Some news hitting our inbox from the Chamber of Digital Commerce this afternoon.
Both the Chamber of Digital Commerce and the Heritage Foundation are expected to hold a discussion surrounding the topic of bitcoin on October 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Foundation Lehrman Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
The Chamber’s Founder and President, Perianne Boring, will be joined by Carol Van Cleef (Partner at Manatt, Phillips and Phillips), George Gilder of The Discovery Institute, and Norbert J. Michel of The Heritage Foundation.
The discussion panel will cover the following topics:
- What is bitcoin?
- How can bitcoin and similar technologies be of beneficial use to society.
- What should the goals of regulatory policies be.
- Are policies needed to ensure a safe marketplace for digital currency.
- Can these policies stifle the potential digital currency.
For those in the area, the event can be attended in-person. For those not in the area (which is most of us), the event can be viewed over the web at The Heritage Foundation’s website.
The Chamber of Digital Commerce was formed earlier this year in July at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Chicago, Illinois. It is self-described as the “authoritative representative” for the crypto-currency industry in Washington, D.C.
