We’ve all heard the term, “Practice Makes Perfect”, but have you ever thought about the reason practice makes perfect? Believe it or not, the reason revolves around the idea of creating a strategy. When you start, you generally start with nothing. However, as you practice, you start to build a strategy around what you’re doing, making it more efficient. This is true in just about everything. From cooking to banking, investing, construction, and more, strategies are important. Today, we’ll talk about what a strategy is, why it’s important to have one in just about anything we do, and how to go about finding proven strategies, and tweaking them to work for you.

What Does The Word Strategy Really Mean?

According to Google, the word strategy is defined as follows…

“a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major overall aim.”

To break that down, a strategy is defined simply as a plan. It is a guide that helps to get people through some of the larger challenges in our life. In many cases, the guide is a step by step plan of how to act in certain scenarios. In cooking a strategy can be as simple as following a recipe to create an amazing meal. In the world of finance, traders may use binary options strategies that tell them when to enter a trade for a profit. At the end of the day, a strategy is nothing more than a plan faced at achieving an overall goal. 

Why It’s Important To Have A Strategy In Just About Everything You Do

As you know from the definition above, a strategy is really nothing more than a plan. At the end of the day, plans make us much more efficient. This way, when we put an effort toward doing something important to us, the goal is achieved in the fastest, lowest cost way possible. 

For example, let’s talk about paying off debt. Without a strategy, you may simply make minimum payments and call it done. Or, you may send in equal amounts of added payments. However, because some debts come with higher interest than others, a strong strategy would be to send extra money to your highest interest rate debt first. By paying this debt off first, you’ll be able to save the maximum amount of money with the least effort. 

At the end of the day, the examples can go on and on, but the reality always remains the same. When you use a strategy to accomplish your goal, chances are that you will have no problem doing what you’ve set out to do. 

Finding And Tweaking Strategies To Make Them Work For You

Regardless of what you’re doing, chances are that you don’t have to create a brand new strategy on your own. With a little bit of research, you’re probably going to be able to find one that fits what you’re trying to do relatively quickly. From there, all you need to do is tweak it into perfection. 

To find proven strategy, it’s time to look to Google for help. Let’s use building a deck as an example. In this case, you would search “Best strategy for building a deck”, “How to build a deck”, “Most efficient way to build a deck” or any other term that you can think of that will bring similar results to your screen. 

Now, simply read what you’ve found and start creating a plan. Obviously, everyone will likely do things at least a little different. So, read a few pages, watch a few videos, and take what you like and leave what you don’t from each. At the end of the day, you’ll likely have a great strategy that will help you to get whatever job needs to be done, and done efficiently!

At the end of the day, human ingenuity is amazing. Today, thanks to the strategies that we employ, we are the most successful creatures in the world. Ultimately, with a little bit of planning and effort, not only can we do just about anything, we can do it efficiently!
