Disqus Commenting Service enables ChangeTip App

The micropayments startup ChangeTip team is making great efforts to help Bitcoin adoption. The latest rumors confirm that the team has already integrated the changeTip app with the internationally known Blog commenting hosting service Disqus.

With this new integration, the ChangeTip app will be engaging virtually everyone that write read and contributes online, raising bitcoin awareness throughout participants in this space.

The news came when Victoria van Eyk, the ChangeTip community developer, sent a tip to a commenter in an article with the Disqus commenting service enabled. She tipped the commenter saying that in reality this integration already happened but it wasn’t formally announced.

The “unusual announcement” came as a surprise and was much appreciated by both the Bitcoin and the Disqus community. Despite this, there were some voices claiming that ChangeTip was a centralized service and that people should try to use decentralized alternatives like Autotip.

Aiming for awareness

ChangeTip received $3.5m in funding at the end of last year, with the intention of having about 10.000 users by the 1st of April this year. Lately, the company has been involved in a series of partnerships, and it all points out to the possibility of surpassing this milestone.

Even though Coinbase revealed it was taking out ChangeTip’s tipping button, the micropayments startup has been collecting many partnerships having partnered with the non-profit BitGive Foundation and recently integrated with video platform Twitch.tv. ChangeTip is supported by most social networks and some web developing and networking platforms such as WordPress, GitHub, and Slack.

ChangeTip is making its way out to be one of the most used tipping systems in the web. Now, with this new partnership it will not only benefit from Disqus enormous influence and status, as it will also increase Bitcoin’s visibility and awareness.
