To be more precise, they are looking at the DECENT blockchain to do so. An exciting development that may transfer the adult industry forever.
Although there has always been a correlation between adult content and Bitcoin, the blockchain was never part of that equation. That came as quite a surprise, considering distributed ledgers are useful for more than just financial services. Storing data in a decentralized manner is of great appeal to many business models.
Naughty America Partner With DECENT
Keeping in mind how Naughty America is involved in creating tons of content, a decentralized storage and distribution model is of great value to them. With a strong focus on image and video content, a blockchain-based concept is worth exploring. Now that VR is becoming a factor as well, it becomes even more important to experiment with new technologies.
By forging an alliance with the DECENT initiative, Naughty America is on the right track. An official statement mentions how the blockchain can be used to combat piracy. At the same time, a decentralized system can improve content privacy. DECENT’s level of transparency, security, and immutability of data have caught their attention.
A new technique will be introduced; called “Video Fingerprinting”. Specialized software will identify key features of a digital film, and will cross-reference this data against videos on the internet. If an infringement is detected, Naughty America can immediately verify they are the original owners of the clip and take the necessary action.
Additionally, all future Naughty America video content will be inserted into the DECENT blockchain automatically. All of the adult company’s subsidiaries will have their content embedded as well. Whether or not this solution will outpace the distribution of pirated content, remains to be seen.
The primary reason for partnering with DECENT is due to their blockchain being tailored towards audiovisual content. There is no censorship limitation or sale of personal information to third-party entities. Combatting piracy can be achieved with blockchain technology, and this partnership is the first step towards achieving that goal.
