BTC China has finally surpassed Mt.Gox as the top Bitcoin exchange, passing 600,000 BTC in volume, compared to Gox’s 589,000 BTC volume. Of course, things could change in the coming days and weeks, but it’s still a noteworthy milestone.
Bitcoin interest in China has spiked in the past month, especially after Chinese search engine Baidu announced they would be accepting payments in Bitcoin.
It should be noted (as pointed out by a user on Reddit) that Mt.Gox still has the highest 30-day volume. BTC China is catching up on that front, however.
