Bitcoin Foundation Extends Signup Deadline For Industry Members to Vote in April Election

The Bitcoin Foundation announced on Friday afternoon that they’re extending the signup deadline for new Industry Members to April 15th. This will allow the members to take part in the upcoming election, as the Industry Member status is required for participation.

Next month’s election aims to fill in two vacant industry board seats, one of which belonged to disgraced bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox.

The Bitcoin Foundation says, “Any industry member signed up with a current industry membership by April 15, 2014 will be able to vote,” and “Any industry member that has a current industry membership also has the opportunity to nominate a board candidate up to the April 7, 2014 nomination deadline.”

Voting for the seats begins on the 21st of April, with elected members announced thereafter. [source: Bitcoin Foundation]
