Atlanta, Georgia-based BitPay has beefed up their presence in their San Francisco office with some new key hires that hope to bring the company into future financial success.
The company has picked up Sonny Singh previously worked for Jumio, a payments company. Singh will be serving as BitPay’s chief commercial officer.
Gregg Zigler, who was previously with PayPal, will be working as a senior developer at BitPay. And if you thought the hires from big financial companies were over, you’re well mistaken.

BitPay has also picked up Steve Pratt from VISA, who will start as BitPay’s director of business development.
With over 40,000 merchants using BitPay’s service, things are moving rapidly. The last we heard, the company was processing upwards of $1 million in bitcoin payments each and every day.
Expected to surpass 50,000 merchants some time in September, the company plans to onboard one million merchants by the end of 2016, so they’re certainly ambitious.
They’re counting on the bitcoin environment to grow, and by the looks of things, things certainly are growing. More and more merchants are finding themselves attracted to bitcoin, using services like BitPay and Coinbase to process the payments.
BitPay originally opened their San Francisco office in March of this year, starting with two employees. The company simultaneously opened an office in New York City.
