Coinbase isn’t the only digital payments processor getting involved with hackathons. BitPay today announced that they will be the premier sponsor of the LAUNCH Hackathon 2014 taking place in San Francisco, California (specifically, at the San Francisco Design Center).
The event takes place from February 21st-23rd, and over $2 million in investment and prizes are expected to be awarded to the more than 1,000 developers that will compete against each other.
“BitPay developed and released Bitcore to encourage new projects in the space, and we are upping the ante for developers in the bitcoin space,” Eric Martindale, Developer Evangelist at BitPay said. “Our goal is to create an opportunity for developers to implement powerful financial integrations with their bitcoin applications.”
Certainly, the potential for new bitcoin-centric projects here is great, and we can’t to see what happens.
