American rock duo The Black Keys have apparently announced their new album, ‘Turn Blue’, but a discovery on Reddit may just appeal to the bitcoin community.
In a rather strange, 90s-style infomercial-esque promo, the final screen says the following:
We accept: Cash, Check, Credit Card, Wire Transfer, Pay Pal, Bit Coins
They accept bitcoins? Could it be?
It’s very well possible, but some in the community are dubious.
“I think that might be a joke, it also lists wire transfer,” wrote a users on Reddit.
“It also looks like an infomercial from 1994…I’m going with fake,” chimed in another.
The video — despite its appearance — appears to be the real deal, though. I’ve reached out to the band’s publicist to try and get more information. I didn’t receive a response before the time of publishing, but as always, I’ll update accordingly.
If The Black Keys turn out to accept bitcoin, they won’t be the first mainstream artists to do so. Last year, former Spice Girl Mel B began accepting bitcoin for her single ‘For Once in My Life’.
