On the heels of the release of Blockchain’s merchant app (released for Android on the 9th of this month) comes the news that the application has been open-sourced.
That’s according to a post made today on the Blockchain blog, who notes that the move was made on the basis of popular demand. For those interested, the source code is available for viewing on Github (follow this link).
Blockchain has built an incredible amount of momentum as an informational resource and tool to allow users to manage their bitcoin holdings with Blockchain.info. Their merchant app marks one of the company’s first steps on the commercial side of the bitcoin space, alongside their new trading platform.
With the app, merchants will be able to easily accept the digital currency and keep it in that form without converting it to fiat. You can find specific information related to the app on the announcement post.
