Capital One Seeks Operations Manager Who's Passionate About Bitcoin, Other FinTech

Multi-billion dollar financial services company Capital One is seeking to hire a Digital Operations Manager who’s passionate about the latest financial technology out there, with bitcoin being an included element of interest.

The information comes from a job posting recently put up on the company’s Jobs website, specifically seeking this candidate for the San Francisco, California area.

[blockquote style=”2″]Capital One’s D3 (Data + Design + Disrupt) team in San Francisco is selectively recruiting for a Digital Operations Manager to help us deliver new digital products and pilot new business models. You will play a critical role on our team’s exploration into big data, adtech, and business intelligence with the reach and resources a Fortune 100 company.[/blockquote]

Preferred qualifications for the Digital Operations Manager position include understanding working in a regulated bank environment, interest in bitcoin, mobile wallets, mobile payments, beacons, predictive analytics, and even P2P lending.

This isn’t the first time Capital One has been interested in potential employees with interest in bitcoin.

Another posting for a Data Scientist position in San Francisco also called for applicants who might consider themselves financially tech-savvy by “Investigating the impact of new technologies like Google Glass, Leap Motion, smart watches, Bitcoin, and iBeacons on the future of mobile banking and the financial world of tomorrow.”

No doubt, as the bitcoin technology continues to gain more and more attention, financial companies are looking to up their game by attempting to acquire the best and brightest to try and navigate them through these little-known territories.

Just last month, Estonian Bank LHV hired a virtual currency expert to try and help develop new products, so we’re already beginning to see a slight trend here.

Some would agree we’re at a moment in which traditional finance is seeking those savvy with digital currencies, and companies operating in the digital currency space are seeking the experience from those in traditional finance. Hand-in-hand, working together.

Let’s see where this goes.
