Central Europe Getting Its Own Bitcoin Expo Next Month

Central Europe is slated to get its very own bitcoin expo come mid-May.

Aptly named the Central European Bitcoin Expo 2014, this first-time event is taking place from May 31st through the 1st of June in Vienna, Austria

The objective is simple:

“This event’s goal is to introduce Bitcoin to the region of Central Europe,” a representative speaking on behalf of the event said to NEWSBTC. “Due to the high potential of the region, we managed to reach world-famous Bitcoin business leaders.”

Those very leaders will be speaking at the event, and they include Dan Held (Director of Product for Blockchain.info), Vitalik Buterin (co-founder of Bitcoin Magazine) and over twenty more involved with this fast-growing digital currency.

Also on the list of speakers is former BitInstant CEO Charlie Shrem. Shrem’s appearance on the speakers list is interesting in that he is currently under house arrest in Brooklyn, New York.

As he is awaiting trial, it is unlikely he would appear in-person, so his involvement will likely be over-the-web (video).

According to the expo’s homepage, tickets start at 100 Euro for early birds, 120 Euro for a one-day pass, and 150 Euro for two days of access. A free pass is also being offered for individuals seeking to attend a two-hour lecture on bitcoin basics.

The event takes place at the Austria Center Vienna.
