Circle Demos iPhone, Android App in London

Circle Internet Financial has given the world a first look at their mobile applications destined for the Android and iOS mobile platforms this evening, drawing even more excitement to the platform that aims to make using bitcoin as simple as possible.

The company’s CEO, Jeremy Allaire, revealed and demonstrated the mobile application at the Coinscrum meetup in London, and the first images of what the app will look like are coming in from users on Twitter.

The move into the mobile space is perhaps one of the more important bits of work Circle could focus on, in these increasingly mobile and on-the-go times. Moreover, users want the ability to spend their bitcoin where ever they are — not just in front of the computer.

Circle’s user (web) interface has been praised by many users in the community, and judging by the images we’re seeing, that seems to have transported into the app itself.

As the hours pass, you can expect to see more on this front, and we’ll post updates here accordingly.

Circle’s service is currently in a beta period. Users must register for an invite, and those invited onto the platform thus far have received $10 worth of free bitcoin.

Circle’s mobile app is expected to become available publicly later this year, with no launch date specified.
