Circle Internet Financial is not messing around. Most recently (in late December) reports surfaced that indicated a Goldman Sachs and Cisco board member named Michele Burns had joined Circle’s own board of directors. The company has today confirmed this news in a press release.
We’re also learning that the Boston-based start-up has attracted talent from a well-known developer and American Express.
Michael Hearn is one of them. He’s a lead bitcoin software developer and most definitely prominent in the community. He’s also a senior security engineer at Google. The other is Michael Barrett, who holds the title of vice president of security at American Express, and formerly chief information security officer at PayPal.
Together, both men will service on the advisory board of Circle, which calls itself a “digital currency company”. Founded by Jeremy Allaire, this venture capitalist-backed company is hoping to bring bitcoin to the mainstream with innovative products for both consumers and businesses.
