Content delivery network Cloudflare may be poised to accept bitcoin in the near future. Twitter user @CakeBet asked the company’s CEO on Twitter whether or not they accepted bitcoin as a form of payment.
“Not yet,” responded Matthew Prince, who heads the company.
Prince was then asked if there were any plans in the works with regard to adding bitcoin, and replied by noting that the company “promised” they’d integrate PayPal first. However, Cloudflare is looking to add both PayPal and bitcoin simultaneously.
The announcement of acceptance could very well be a great thing for the company. Scores of websites (including newsBTC) use Cloudflare services for content distribution, but the company’s services are especially popular within the bitcoin community. You’ll find sites like Blockchain.info and BitcoinFoundation.org using it, too.
Of course, nothing has been announced yet, so things could be subject to change. We’ll have more information on this as it becomes available.
