Coinbase Expansion Continues With New Team Members

Coinbase announced on their blog Tuesday that they’re adding a total of five new employees to their team.

The group of new hires is made up of three software engineers, a manager of business development, and a recruiting director.

Let’s take a brief look at what the software engineers have done in the past to see what they could possibly be doing for Coinbase:

Adrian Macneil, whom, according to his Linkedin page has actually been working at Coinbase since April, has experience in “architecting and implementing highly secure and stable mission-critical systems” and “e-commerce software.”

Judging from Macneil’s experience, his talents will probably to making Coinbase’s services more secure. And when you’re dealing with financial services, you can never be too secure.

Maksim Stepanenko previously worked as a software engineer at Loku.

Loku, a startup, helps “attract more customers to your business by showcasing it on top sites like Google, Yelp, Facebook and more.”

So Stepanenko will seemingly be working on the Coinbase back-end. We don’t know what he’s doing in particular, however.

The third software developer, Miha Rebernik, has over ten years of experience with web technologies. Miha is a co-founder of DoubleRecall, which “helps publishers increase the efficiency of their paywalls by monetizing social, search and email traffic with engagement ads.”

Again, there’s no easy way to tell what his role at Coinbase will be specifically, but he’ll most likely be on the back-end of the platform.

Coinbase has grown significantly over the past year, moving into a swanky new office in downtown San Francisco. If you were curious about employee benefits at the company, hold on to your hat. Each company employee receives a Macbook computer, free lunch and dinners, the option to get paid in bitcoin, a free gym membership, and the ability to take time off when you need it through a flexible vacation arrangement.
