We’ve been really fascinated by a new exchange called Coinsetter. This New York City-based institutional platform is designed for the serious bitcoin trader with an infrastructure that can quite possibly put other exchanges to shame.
And today, they’ve announced some new features and updates.
Streaming Websockets API
According to Coinsetter, users can now monitor price quotes and trade executions on the platform in real time using the platform’s Websockets API. This will allow users to have access to a low-latency trading experience, which is certainly a good thing.
Virtual Trading Sandbox
This is a great feature, we think. Coinsetter has added a sandbox for new customers to get up and running on their REST and Websockets APIs. The sandbox will allow the customer to make sure everything is working properly before connecting to the real-world trading system.
SMS/Email Price Alerts
For the trader looking for the skinny on the price but isn’t glued to the screen, the service allows clients to receive free price alerts via SMS or email (it’s also available via the API).
The trader sets the parameter, that way they’re always in the know.
VWAP Price Quotes
For the trader looking to find out just how much it will cost to buy a certain amount of bitcoin from the Coinsetter API based on the current order book state (and on current market prices).
API Lookback Parameter
Traders can now obtain up to 500 historical ticks using Coinsetter’s “lookback” API parameter for future reference.
News Alerts
Traders are provided with the latest bitcoin news along with other trading information when logging into trades page.
Additional Charts
What’s a good trading service with decent charts? Coinsetter’s charts are now available even when not logged into an account at coinsetter.com/bitcoin-price-chart.
Faster Bitcoin Withdrawals
Traders will be happy to know that the platform has updated their withdrawal system to “substantially” reduce the amount of time it takes for Coinsetter to process withdrawal requests from cold storage.
Latency, Performance, and Security Improvements
And last but not least the team says they’ve been working on updates that will make the platform quicker, more reliable, and more secure (as it should be).
They did not specify what those changes were, specifically.
