Moonveil Studio, a rising Web3 gaming company focused on building high-quality games and an interoperable gaming ecosystem, announced a successful extension of its Pre-Series A funding round. The recently completed capital fundraising welcomed some of the top blockchain and gaming VCs, bringing Moonveil’s total funding to $9 million so far.
Some of the prominent VCs in the Pre-Series A funding round include Spartan Group, Gumi Cryptos Capital, HashKey Capital, Animoca Ventures, Hivemind, and Mask Network. Over 25 investors have funded the project with the majority of them taking part in the previous seed funding round that was filled by P2 Ventures.
Led by a team of seasoned professionals and longtime gamers, Moonveil has been famed for its revolutionary Layer 2 gaming titles, which ensure scalability and speed within the ecosystem. The latest capital raise will support the development of a more robust Layer 2 ecosystem for web3 gaming.
Moreover, the new freshly raised capital will be utilized in the development of Moonveil’s infrastructure and community building. Moonveil will also expand its user acquisition strategy with a focus on web3 users and onboarding GameFi players.
Moonveil Building on Polygon’s CDK
One of the biggest accomplishments of Moonveil so far is building its ecosystem using the Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK). Polygon’s CDK provides developers with a modular, open-source software toolkit to launch new L2 chains on Ethereum. In order to solve the challenge of interoperability across blockchain ecosystems, core developers at Moonveil decided to build using Polygon’s CDK.
This is expected to offer the ecosystem the ability to organically manage the gaming life cycles of multiple titles due to cross-game interoperability. In other words, a multiplicity of games built on Moonveil will be able to composably exchange value. Instead of relegating cross-game value exchange to a single blockchain, Moonveil anticipates helping to build a gaming ecosystem that spans the entire aggregated network.
Experienced Founders and Team Members
Apart from its infrastructure, Moonveil Studios also boasts a team of experienced founders and members who have previously worked in top Web 2 gaming studios and titles. Some of the gaming studios that Moonveil members have worked at include Riot Games, Tencent, Netease, Funplus, and CARV. The gaming titles are such as League of Legends, Valorant, Minecraft, and EVE Online.
According to the team statement, the team will use this experience and seasoned development knowledge to develop its gaming titles on Moonveil as well as advance the gameplay of its existing titles – AstrArk and Bushwhack.
Finally, the fresh capital will also be used to revolutionize Web 3 gaming on L2 chains by producing top-tier products on a ZK-powered Layer 2 chain. In addition, the team is working on improving the overall blockchain gaming ecosystem by building a platform that offers rapid delivery, community-driven development, and agile iteration. This will be made possible by fostering a vibrant ecosystem for game developers and highly engaged users.
