Singapore-registered cryptocurrency company MinePlex is calling on Vietnamese TV channel VTV to issue a rebuttal to the allegations of illegal MinePlex activities in Vietnam. MinePlex sent a written statement to the management of the TV channel listing all the false information that sounded on the air. According to MinePlex’s letter to the channel, the video material affected their business and reputation in Vietnam and misled users of their services.
On March 9, 2023, VTV News published an article and a video with a title “The electronic bank self-proclaimed as Mineplex operates illegally” on the website of VTV News. “Apart from illegal activities, the self-proclaimed Digital Bank Mineplex also has many unusual and suspicious activities to entice and seduce participants,” VTV’s report said.
MinePlex is a new generation digital ecosystem that creates advanced and modern payment solutions based on traditional financial, blockchain and digital application technologies. It is registered in Singapore as MINEPLEX PTE. LTD. under the registration number 202025952D.
Mineplex notes that it has always informed customers that the company is cooperating with traditional banks when offering finance-related services, such as payment cards, accounts, etc. Since 2023, MinePlex has partnered with a major Brazil-based bank.
MinePlex emphasizes disappointment that VTV journalists did not understand the company’s technology and slanders that it is a pyramid. “Already 2.5 years ago, the MinePlex technology was recognized as unique in the world media. The MinePlex blockchain is based on the work of two tokens. One mines the other. This is written in a mathematical algorithm and the company cannot interrupt this process in any way.”
MinePlex also draws attention to the fact that VTV journalists, when creating a report, took out of context the phrase of MinePlex CFO, Fyodor Bogorodsky, when he was talking about a possible growth of the PLEX token to $1,500. MinePlex notes that when watching the entire video of Bogorodsky’s speech, it becomes obvious that his words about the price of the token were an assumption, and not a guarantee or promise. In addition, MinePlex lists the services already launched in the ecosystem, refuting the accusations of not having a working product – something that the authors of the VTV report accused the company of.
The MinePlex team has always been transparent, the letter emphasizes. In July 2022, the MinePlex team completed a KYC check from the international company CertiK. All team members were verified, interviewed by independent experts of the company and passed a financial audit.
MinePlex was ranked as one of the top blockchain projects of 2021 by International Business Times, named Top Digital Finance Company 2021 by Seeking Alpha, and took first place in the list of top crypto projects of 2023 according to Nasdaq journalists.
“We are saddened and disappointed that such a major Vietnamese TV channel has neglected the basic principles of journalism and didn’t verify and clarify the content before publishing subsequent articles that caused confusion, affecting our honor and reputation. MinePlex has full legal bases and operating conditions.”
The company also contacted a law firm to discuss possible next steps to protect its reputation.
