The TON Foundation announces first community ambassadors and names Manuel Stotz as board member

The TON Foundation has today announced that three of the most noteworthy members of the TON community will be officially recognised, with two becoming public ambassadors of the TON ecosystem and another moving into a board position. This official recognition comes as a result of their outsized contribution to the TON ecosystem.

Continuing its pursuit of the mass adoption of blockchain technology, the TON Foundation will now work closely with these community ambassadors to increase the accessibility of TON-based projects, and to promote the values of the TON blockchain. Tal Kol, co-founder of Orbs and Hexa, and Oleg Andreev, co-founder of Tonkeeper and a core developer of the TON blockchain, have used their expertise to create and develop TON-based projects that look to use blockchain technology to solve real-world issues. Orbs Network empowers developers through the creation of key infrastructure, and Oleg’s work at Tonkeeper has provided users with a safe and reliable non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet.

The ambassadors will continue their existing great work at their respective companies and projects, but with a closer relationship to the TON Foundation.

Manuel Stotz, Founder of Kingsway Capital, will join the TON Foundation’s board, working alongside fellow board member Bill Qian to continue the TON ecosystem’s impressive growth and promote the mass adoption of Web3. His support of the TON ecosystem has been crucial, and he commented ‘Kingsway is proud to be an investor in TON and to supporting the growing TON ecosystem which is dominated by missionaries, not mercenaries. I am proud to support this mission as an incoming board member of the TON Foundation.”

This announcement is the latest in a year that has seen the TON Foundation involved in an impressive number of partnerships, and has also seen a host of exciting developments take place on TON. Having seen TON’s native token Toncoin listed on Huobi and Kucoin, independent developers on the TON Blockchain established a P2P marketplace within Telegram. This enabled the seamless trading of Toncoin between users within the Telegram app itself. The most notable project, however, was Telegram’s recent launch of a tokenised username marketplace built on the TON blockchain which has seen individual domain names sold for over one million USD. The TON Foundation will look to 2023 as it continues its mission to onboard millions of users into Web3 with a variety of exciting developments scheduled for the new year.
