After staying in hibernation for months, Cryptcoin resurrected itself after being abetted by a small group of developers.
Earlier this year, the cryptocurrency almost came closer to being called a “scam” when its chief developer, aliased as ‘Mindfox’, disappeared from the scene of development. Later, his involvement with a notorious pump-and-dump group were surfaced that ultimately jeopardized Cryptcoin’s public image.
In order to save the altcoin and its stakeholders, other Cryptcoin developers tried to contact Mindfox, but were met with no response. On October 15th 2014, they announced to end their professional relationships with Mindfox, and introduce a new team to implement anonymity-features on Cryptcoin. They meanwhile changed all the private details that were accessible to past creators/developers, including the source code.
Cryptcoin finally launched itself with a new team on December 2nd.
“The prior history of the coin caused harm to many people in this thread and we will never lose sight of that,” reads the team’s public statement on BitcoinTalk. “With the previous creators/devs out of the project, we can elevate Cryptcoin to the status it deserves and help everyone make back their investment. That is one of our primary near term goals.”
It is important to point out that most of the people who were impacted by Mindfox are the ones who put Cryptcoin on a revival mode. They already have presented a raw plan to rebrand Cryptcoin, which includes everything from implementing new marketing strategies to launching new, improved wallets.
It would be interesting to see how their leadership could lead this cryptocurrency to new heights, or lows.
