Edmund Moy to Participate in Regulatory Discussion Panel

On Saturday, August 16th during the Cryptolina conference taking place in Raleigh, North Carolina there will be ‘Strategic Regulatory Panel’ discussing the New York State BitLicense regulation proposal that just recently made its debut.

Panelists whose backgrounds include legal, financial, and governmental experience will discuss the matter and the implication of such regulations on the cryptocurrency community.

The panel will be moderated by Todd Erickson of the Bitcoin Foundation’s regulatory affairs committee.

The Former Director of the United States Mint, the Honorable Edmund C. Moy will also be taking part in the panel, which comes as no surprise. Moy has taken an interest in cryptocurrencies as of late, and will also be delivering the keynote address at the Cryptolina event.

He’s joined by Carol Van Cleef, Esq., a partner with the Manatt, Phelps & Phillips law firm in Washington. Van Cleef represents financial services companies “and other clients in federal and state regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters, including anti-money laundering, electronic payments and federal deposit insurance.”

Part-time prosecutor and former Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Circuit for Charleston County (South Carolina) David Aylor, Esq. will also be on the panel, in addition to Tyler Gibbons, CPA and Andrew Beal, Esq.

Beal is said to be serving as legal counsel for “several Bitcoin 2.0 companies” and working on crowd sales and distributed governance issues.

“We want to provide consumers and businesses an opportunity to ask questions, and we are honored to be hosting such an extraordinary lineup,” said Faruk Okcetin, co-founder of Cryptolina. “This will be a direction-setting discussion that will provide a much needed dialogue on these critical issues for our community.”
