Green Man Gaming Says Forget the Green; Pay with Bitcoin

Like games?  Like bitcoin?  Well, here’s another opportunity for fans of both to get their digital currency freak on while enjoying an hour or two of their favorite games.

Online retailer Green Man Gaming is now allowing users to purchase PC games with bitcoin.

After a whopping 89 percent of their buyers expressed interest in the digital currency, the online platform felt it could no longer ignore the signs, and added bitcoin to their list of acceptable payment methods.

Currently, only those who pay in U.S. dollars are able to make purchases in bitcoin, but the company feels this is a good start into what is bound to be a virtually-driven future, saying:

“Having recently launched local currency payment options such as Alipay, and Union Pay in China, as well as Yandex, Webmoney, and Qiwi in Russia, Green Man Gaming is now offering Bitcoin to customers who currently pay in USD, with more currencies coming very soon, as part of its long-term commitment to roll out a variety of safe payment options.”

As it turns out, their original blog post was first published in early December, so no doubt Green Man Gaming’s partnership with bitcoin has begun on a quiet plane, but now that the news is out and more and more people are looking to bitcoin to acquire goods and services, it probably won’t be long before the silence turns to screams of joy.
