Hyperliquid, leading perp DEX, is rolling out a fiat on-ramp in testing with Swapped.com, a fiat–crypto gateway.

Hyperliquid, “The Place To Be”, Is Now Open To Everyone
As if all its other recent milestones weren’t enough, Hyperliquid is now turning into a unique entry point for retail coming from traditional banking rails. The decentralized exchange announced this new venture today through its Telegram channel. The project, now live in initial testing phase, lets users fund directly in the app via card and bank transfer instead of needing prior crypto.
You can now deposit money into your Hyperliquid account via credit card or a bank transfer by using the “Fiat” option as the deposit option. Off ramping is also planned in the future.

Users in supported geographies can now select “Fiat” in the deposit modal and buy in with credit cards, bank transfers, and other local methods, rather than bridging USDC or ETH from another wallet. This move mirrors the broader trend of on/off-ramps integrating directly into DeFi front-ends, where providers like Swapped already let users buy and sell $HYPE via card, bank transfer, Revolut Pay, or Mobile Money.
The project collapses the “multi-hop” funnel for new users (CEX → stablecoin → bridge → Hyperliquid) into a single in-app flow, with Swapped’s non-custodial rails delivering purchased HYPE or USDC straight to a user’s wallet.
It is worth noting that despite the fact that Swapped claims to have some of the lowest fees in the market “to help make crypto more accessible”, some X’s users have manifested their concerns warning about the opposite, going as far as to call the product “absolutely unusable” because of the elevated fees.

The rollout is explicitly labeled as testing only, with Hyperliquid asking for feedback and planning off-ramps and more on-chain assets later, which helps manage compliance and UX risk.
The Tale Of A Rapid Rise
Hyperliquid has been experiencing explosive growth amid Middle East tensions driving oil prices toward $115-$120 per barrel on traditional markets. Its oil-linked perpetuals (e.g., WTI crude) have surged past $1.2 billion in 24-hour volume, making them the platform’s second-most traded asset behind bitcoin (BTC), with total open interest hitting a record $1.43B.
$HYPE token has broken $42 for the first time since November 2025, up over 20% recently despite broader market weakness, fueled by Bloomberg and WSJ coverage highlighting its 24/7 trading edge over CEXs. Some seasoned traders like Arthur Hayes have predicted its rise will even reach $150 by August 2026.

What This Means For Traders
Having a frictionless on-ramp is key to capturing the next wave of users and volume, especially as more RWAs (oil, FX, equities synthetics) live on Hyperliquid. Fiat rails plus permissionless perps make it easier for traditional traders to move from weekend gaps in legacy markets to 24/7 on-chain markets.
Short term, traders can expect improved liquidity and potentially stickier retail flow on core markets like BTC, ETH and oil perps as the fiat test expands. Traders can position for “on-ramp beta” by monitoring $HYPE around UX/product catalysts (fiat going from test to full rollout, addition of off-ramps and more assets) as potential upside volatility triggers, but should price in regional availability and KYC constraints that may limit immediate global impact.
