ICO News

Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is the most commonly used means of raising funds for blockchain-based projects. It became particularly popular because it used to be relatively easy to raise a substantial amount of money in a fairly short amount of time. ICO investment was incredibly popular in late 2017 and towards the first three quarters of 2018 but their popularity has faded. This is because a lot of the projects turned out to be a scam, while the overwhelming majority of them lost more than 90% of their value. ICOs are commonly compared to Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) but there are important differentiation and the former is, for the most part, widely unregulated. An ICO cryptocurrency is one launched as means of raising funds. Usually, the project will create its own cryptocurrency for the sake of selling it to investors. Based on the project’s progress, the cryptocurrency is supposed to grow in value, hence making a nice return for the investors. That’s rarely the case. NewsBTC provides detailed ICO news and overall insights on the market, as well as on ICO blockchain projects.
