A deposit token and an independently issued payment stablecoin can look similar in a wallet interface, but the legal claims and eligible users may be very different. JPM Coin represents money deposited with the bank, subject to its programme terms and access controls. J.P. Morgan has also used the Base network, another Ethereum-compatible environment.
