If Lamborghini Newport Beach selling a Tesla for bitcoin wasn’t enough, another car dealership in the Golden State of California has announced the sale of a set of wheels in exchange for digital currency.
It’s Land Rover of Redwood City, a dealership that serves the San Francisco metropolitan area, selling new and pre-owned Land Rover, Range Rover, and other vehicles.
The dealership had very little understanding of bitcoins until a prominent venture capitalist from Silicon Valley requested to purchase a car with bitcoin. And so he did. The transaction was carried out via BitPay.
“Realizing we need to be ready to accept change in the constantly broadening virtual community, we agreed to our first Bitcoin sale,” said Doug Doyle, General Sales Manager at the dealership. “Although the concept of Bitcoin is hard to grasp, the process as put forth by BitPay is quite simple…”
The move demonstrates that businesses are coming to realization that they must cater to customer desires — not only product-wise, but in terms of how the product is acquired.
