New Service Will Allow Enthusiasts to Spend Bitcoins on Hotel Stays

If you’re looking to spend your bitcoins on hotel accommodations, a new service by the name of GuestLeader just may have you covered, reports the Daily Mail.

The website, which has not yet launched, will operate much like the other slew of hotel booking services already available to consumers, with the added convenience of allowing customers to pre-pay with digital currency.

It’s all coming together via a partnership with Atlanta-based BitPay, who will present the customer with a QR code to scan in order to send the payment.

The move will give bitcoin enthusiasts the opportunity to spend their digital bucks at all sorts of hotels, from Bed & Breakfast establishments to multi-national chains like Hilton, Marriott, and so forth.

“With this revolutionary financial technology, hotel properties have the ability to reach new customers in emerging markets as bitcoins are a borderless digital currency,” said a spokesperson for REVPAR GURU, the company providing the technology for GuestLeader’s service.

“Hotels of any size will have the ability to accept payment in bitcoins (and by doing so, attract a new and emerging customer) without having a great deal of technical knowledge.”

Another established service in the same industry, GoCityHotels.com, announced earlier this month they would soon be enabling support for bitcoin payments for hotel stays. According to an announcement, they are expected to begin bitcoin acceptance this month.

As for GuestLeader, it remains to be seen whether or not the concept takes off, but certainly, time will tell.
