Darkcoin, a cryptocurrency known for its transaction obfuscation features, now plans to focus on its marketing strategy to push user and merchant adoption.
As mentioned in a post published by one of the Darkcoin Foundation members, r-ando, the new marketing plan is aiming to gather people from all age-groups (especially children and young adults) by simplifying the Darkcoin platform for non-technical users. The member proposes to put certain strategies in trial mode, so as to understand their medium and long-term capabilities.
“For example,” r-ando suggested, “we [Darkcoin] should have 1 version of the client especially designed for children in a children’s theme available in different colors available for download on the website. These should also have a test DRK mode to learn (basically a tutorial for kids). Already with this we are totally surpassing the competition.”
Darkcoin, which has been mostly touted as a cryptocurrency for dark markets, indeed needs such a brand makeover, he added. This could actually enable the coin to follow a “sustainable market direction and plan”, allowing it to breathe a little more than now. “This while ensuring that we are targeting the masses with our advertising and image of a currency for everyone and built for all generations.”
Just yesterday, we did an opinion-article on Litecoin, mentioning how it certainly needs a better marketing strategy, if it wants to tackle the increasing competition from younger altcoins. It seems Darkcoin is going to implement it before the silver-coin. Though, the outcome of such branding is yet to be calculated.
