Android-based gaming platform OUYA has begun to accept bitcoin to purchase their console, which recently made its debut. A post on OuyaForum.com shows a screenshot of the checkout page with options to pay with traditional credit cards, PayPal, and bitcoin (below).
OUYA even announced the acceptance of the digicurrency on their official Twitter account: “We accept Bitcoin. REJOICE!”, reads the tweet.
The move may bring in more business for OUYA, which has been struggling to stay in the limelight with the recent releases of the XBOX ONE and PlayStation 4. At this time, though, it’s unclear if the bitcoin acceptance is only for the console, or if it also includes video games that can be purchased electronically.
Will OUYA accepting bitcoin make you any likelier to purchase their product?
