Porn Production Company Brazzers Likely Poised to Accept Bitcoin

Porn makes up a huge part of the internet, like it or not (and let’s be honest here, you probably like it). And believe it or not, the pornography industry has been at the forefront of developing convenient ways to pay for adult entertainment on the web.

The latest of which may be bitcoin. Already, a major porn outfit aptly named Porn.com accepts bitcoin, and reports suggest a quarter of its subscribers pay using the digital currency.

Now, it would appear as if another player in the industry is poised to accept bitcoin: Brazzers. Established in 2005, this Montreal-based production company’s web property is extremely popular, ranked in the top 1000 most visited sites in the United States.

The news comes from an AMA (ask me anything) done by the company on social sharing website Reddit.com on Friday evening. When asked when the company was going to accept bitcoin, the response from Brazzers’ product director “Buck Naked” was nothing short of simple: “coming soon”.

Some are asking whether porn is the killer app for bitcoin — and it just might be. Brazzers is owned by Montreal-based MindGeek, which also operates high-traffic properties like YouPorn and PornHub. Which raises the next question: will these properties also start accepting bitcoin?

MindGeek did not immediately respond to an inquiry on the matter from newsBTC, but we’ll keep you informed as there are developments.
