Following years of silence, it would appear as if the real Satoshi Nakamoto has come forth to announced that his is not the Nakamoto in Southern California, as declared by Newsweek.
“I am not Dorian Nakamoto,” came a post from the same username the bitcoin creator used to start a discussion about his new idea, bitcoin, back in early 2009.
Already, members of the BitcoinTalk forums are abuzz, along with the members of the bitcoin community at Reddit.com.
Josef Davies-Coates, the website’s administrator, tweeted about the unexpected response from Nakamoto:
…but I can confirm that the reg’d email address of #Satoshi used on P2P Ning is the same as that used in orig #bitcoin paper etc
Of course, it’s entirely possible that someone else gained access to the account (it should be mentioned that there is no signature), but the statement in itself here is notable if true.
We’ll let you make your own mind up on this one. But tell us what’s on your mind: do you think the message from Satoshi’s account is the real deal?
