There may or may not be some confusion over just who had the first bitcoin ATM in Europe. For a bit, it was thought to be an ATM in a railway station in Finland. Others thought it was an ATM located in Stockholm.
Marian Jancuska, operator of a bitcoin ATM in Bratislava, Slovakia is hoping to “set things straight” on the matter. Jancuska says his bitcoin ATM was installed in downtown Bratislava in early December. December 8th, in fact, about a week before the aforementioned ATM in Finland.
It may not seem like a big deal over who has the title of starting Europe’s first BTC ATM, but it will inevitably end up in the history books — which explains what Jancuska wants to set things straight.
Jancuska is reportedly operating a Lamassu ATM (which recently announced they’ve sold over 100 units). Now, let’s just wait and see if someone else comes forward! (via CoinDesk)
