Swedish bitcoin startup Safello has reportedly received $600,000 in investment capital from Coinapult co-founder Erik Voorhees, bitcoin advocate and angel investor Roger Ver, Blockchain.info CEO Nicolas Cary, and angel investment outfit Victor & Victor.
The company, which we’ve reported on previously, will use the investment cash to grow their position in Europe, and will take other bitcoin start-ups like Coinbase, Kraken, and Bitstamp head-on.
To do that, Safello has started by redesigning their website for ease of use, and they’ve also registered with the Financial Supervisory Authority in Sweden.
“Our new interface is simpler than our competitors. And we are more ‘compliant’ than the others. Our goal is keep the user interface minimalistic so it’s simpler for people to get into bitcoins,” said Safello CEO Frank Schuil.
With the backing of Voorhees, Ver, and others — could Safello be the next big this in bitcoin for Europeans? Time will tell. [via Techcrunch]
