Bitcoin ATMs are seemingly popping up everywhere. From North America to Eastern Asia, and now: the Middle East.
Manufactured by Las Vegas, Nevada-based Robocoin and operated by a Bitbox, the machine will allow its users to both buy and sell bitcoins in a matter of seconds without going through bureaucracy.
“The launch of the first Bitcoin ATM in the Middle East will allow any person with no previous knowledge of bitcoin and how it works to easily buy and sell bitcoin 24/7 bypassing the bureaucracy of the banks,” said Bitbox CEO Nimrod Gruber.
According to Mr. Gruber, this ATM will make it simple for the many people in Tel Aviv to get their hands on the digital currency, which has grown massively in popularity over the past year.
And with Robocoin’s newly-announced platform, individuals will be able to send bitcoin to any email address and phone number and have them redeemed as digital currency or cash to any Robocoin kiosk sprinkled around the globe.
Each Robocoin ATM was priced at $20,000 (now $15,000), and includes biometic features than can be enabled should local regulations require.
The launch of Bitbox’s ATM in Tel Aviv will take place Wednesday evening at the TOWN-HOUSE TLV hotel located at 32 Yavne St., at the corner of Rothschild Blvd.
