Now, some clever developers have brought the magic of the bitcoin tip bot to twitter. It’s called TipperCoin, and it listen to tweets containing #tippercoin and @tippercoin. It creates a unique address for you upon logging in and activates it when you deposit at least 0.0002 BTC. As one would expect, you can tip by mentioning someone in your tweet along with an amount (example: @friend, thanks bro, here’s 0.01 BTC #tippercoin)
According to TipperCoin, “An account is automatically created for the recipient if they do not already have one. The recipient will then need to authenticate via twitter within 21 days to receive the Bitcoins, otherwise, the Bitcoins are automatically refunded to the sender.”
Will it take off? It’s unclear just yet, but it’s a great way to get the word out.
