Users Can Now Spend Bitcoin For Whole Foods Products Via eGifter

Bitcoin user that also happens to shop at Whole Foods Market? You’re in a bit of luck. While the natural and organic food retailer isn’t directly accepting bitcoin (which would be a pretty big deal), customers can now pick up gift cards to the store via eGifter. That’s according to an announcement made on Tuesday via Reddit.

eGifter, like Gyft, allows customers to pick up electronic gift cards using a number of different payment methods — bitcoin being one of them. So if you want to take your digital money and make it buy some hearty foods, the opportunity is there for the taking.

Consumers can buy in denominations from $5 to $500, and they have the option of either buying the gift cards for themselves or for friends.

But really, it’s a great thing, and it’s just yet another store where bitcoin enthusiasts can spend their bits with little to no hassle. Other retail options users have using the eGifter service include Lowe’s, Sports Authority, and Zappos.com.

Users can even buy gift cards for other purposes like eating out to locations like Chili’s, Domino’s Pizza, and TGI Fridays.

In all, there are tons of options for bitcoin users are there, but they are by proxy. Some major companies have decided to accept the digital currency directly, though. These include Overstock.com, Newegg.com, DISH Network, and even Dell.com.
