One of the leading financial services group in the United States, Wedbush Securities, announced on Friday that they would be accepting bitcoin payments for their equity research reports, which many financial professionals on Wall Street have come to rely on.
The company has set up a dedicated page at wedbush.com/bitcoin where they are selling their reports in exchange for the digital currency.
“We have been observing a great deal of entrepreneurial activity in digital currency, and the trend is only accelerating. We want to signal to the market our position and help lead the way in building out the ecosystem constructively, and that begins with using it,” said Sheri Kaiserman, who heads the Equities division at the company. “As financial technology thought leaders, we see virtual currency as the next major innovation shaping the future of the industry.”
The company has published a number of reports on bitcoin, including one we here at newsBTC reported on at the beginning of January, titled Digitizing Trust: Leveraging the Bitcoin Protocol Beyond the “Coin”.
The Wall Street firm published other reports titled Bitcoin: Watch the Innovation, Not the Price, and Intrinsic Value as Conduit for Disruptive Payment Network Technology.
