Tokenized Funds Need Better On-Ramps
Tokenization has spent years sounding more complicated than it needs to.
At its simplest, the idea is straightforward: take an existing financial product and represent ownership using blockchain rails.
The harder part is getting ordinary users into those products.
Opening bank accounts, moving money to crypto wallets and understanding blockchain transactions creates friction.
MoonPay’s role is to remove some of that.
By integrating card and bank-transfer infrastructure, WisdomTree can offer tokenized products through an onboarding experience that looks much more like ordinary fintech.
That matters if tokenized funds are going to grow beyond crypto-native investors.
WTGXX Shows Where RWA Adoption Is Heading
Money market funds are one of the clearest early use cases for tokenization.
They are relatively simple, highly liquid and backed by familiar financial assets.
The blockchain layer adds the potential for faster settlement, programmable ownership and easier integration with digital wallets.
WisdomTree is not alone in chasing the opportunity.
BlackRock, Franklin Templeton and other large asset managers are all experimenting with tokenized cash and Treasury products.
Competition is now moving toward distribution.
It is not enough to tokenize a fund.
People still need a simple way to buy it.
