For verified World ID users, the app also supports zero-fee stablecoin transfers.
World Wants To Become More Than An Identity Network
World started with a fairly narrow pitch.
Verify that a person is human, issue them a World ID, and build applications around that proof.
World Money moves the project closer to becoming a general financial platform.
Once users have an identity layer and a wallet, payments are an obvious next step.
Stablecoins make that especially useful because they let users move dollar-like assets globally without taking on the volatility of tokens such as Bitcoin or WLD.
Stripe then handles the messy part of getting conventional money into and out of the system.
That makes the whole product feel much closer to fintech than traditional crypto.
Self-Custody Is Still Central
One notable part of the design is that World Money remains self-custodial.
Users control the wallet rather than simply holding a balance inside a centralized exchange account.
That keeps the product tied to World’s broader blockchain architecture even as the user experience becomes more conventional.
Availability does vary by region.
Some financial, yield and card-related features remain restricted in parts of the United States and elsewhere depending on local rules.
So this is not one identical global product appearing everywhere on day one.
Still, the direction is obvious.
World already has identity.
Now it wants payments, stablecoins and everyday financial activity to sit beside it.
