This week we caught up with XCoinCall – here is what they had to say…
1) First of all, tell us little bit about what XCoinCall is all about.
XCoinCall is all about offering Bitcoin owners a reliable service that enables users to place international calls. We offer our users competitive rates and offers to help them connect, without worrying about their costs.
2) The bitcoin space is growing fast, where do you see XCoinCall fitting into the overall infrastructure?
As the bitcoin space evolves, we plan on evolving with it. We’re planning all sorts of interesting features, but mainly we’re looking at what the community wants. That being said, telecommunications are mainly about being reliable and trustworthy. We want to be there when our users need us.
3) Is there anybody at the company that our users may be interested to hear are involved?
Sorry, we don’t have that much of a profile. But I think your users would be happy to know that our team is dedicated and ambitious and we’re not in it for the spotlight. We consider that to be more valuable to the Community.
4) How does the technology work?
XCoinCall is based on Web RTC. With this technology, we were able to develop a platform which enables high-quality calls to any phone, straight from our users’ browsers without any required installation.
5) Where do you see bitcoin in 10 years – first in terms of value and second in terms of where it will fitting into both online and off-line commerce?
Being a bitcoin-only company, we believe that bitcoin will be very present 10 years from now. Personally, I don’t feel comfortable predicting its value, but I can say I expect it to be stable. Naturally, bitcoin will be an accepted currency in all online transactions. Because it makes sense, and this prediction should be independent of its volatility, given that you can automatically switch your payment to fiat. In terms of offline payments, this model should be easy to copy as long as we’re still talking about electronic transactions. In terms of “offline” payments, Bitcoin Box (source) seems to be a good indicator of how the future might look like.
6) What, as bitcoin enthusiasts, should we be doing to get ourselves prepared for this future you speak of?
It’s important that bitcoin enthusiasts inform the outside community about bitcoin. That doesn’t mean evangelizing it, it’s easy to fall into extremes. People need to know why this whole movement got started and why it can benefit them. Bitcoin is about options and freedom.

8) Is there anything you’d like to add?
I’d like to add my thanks to all the developers working on pushing the boundaries of this technology. Their efforts have been inspiring and a piece of why we wanted to bring our own contribution.
