Bitcoin Hyper operates as the first Bitcoin Layer 2 network built to solve Bitcoin’s two major problems: slow transactions and high fees. It creates a parallel processing system that works alongside Bitcoin’s main blockchain while maintaining security connections to it. The technology uses a Canonical Bridge to monitor Bitcoin deposits and mint equivalent BTC on its Layer 2 environment in a trustless manner.
This Layer 2 setup uses Solana’s Virtual Machine (SVM) architecture to process transactions much faster than Bitcoin’s native chain. When users send Bitcoin to the designated address, a smart contract called the Bitcoin Relay Program verifies the transaction and creates an equivalent amount on Layer 2. Users can then transact with near-instant finality at minimal cost.
Beyond simple transfers, Bitcoin Hyper supports more complex applications like staking, decentralized exchanges, and DeFi operations directly built on Bitcoin’s ecosystem.
The system batches and compresses multiple Layer 2 transactions that use zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to validate them while periodically synchronizing with Bitcoin’s Layer 1 blockchain.
