Draper University Bitcoin Course Now Available

Here’s a public service announcement that serves as a follow-up to a recent story indicating that Draper University would be offering a free course on bitcoin.

As planned, the course has gone live today. Here’s a direct link to the course overview page.

The course is taught (as mentioned) by Draper University, and the project comes together in a partnership with ZapChain, a social network for professionals in the bitcoin industry.

The idea behind the course is to make “bitcoin more approachable,” with the hope that students will be inspired to innovate with the digital currency. Here’s the University’s description of the course:

[blockquote style=”2″]In this course we’ll teach you the fundamentals of bitcoin and introduce you to entrepreneurs who have been funded by tens of millions of dollars, the venture capitalists behind them, and some of the brightest engineers in Silicon Valley, all of whom will give us their unique insights into how bitcoin can change the world.[/blockquote]

The course is split up into seven sections that include the ins-and-outs of the blockchain, creating a bitcoin node, and much more. There’s about seven hours of what’s described as “high quality content”, forty-two lectures, and 3 quizzes.
