Have you heard of the ‘Almost Human’ TV show? This crime drama, which takes place in the future, airs on the FOX network in the United States, and they’ve mentioned bitcoin more than once now (see above video).

But why?

We’ve been seeing these subtle injections of bitcoin into pop culture a few months now. Which begs the question: is this digital currency — once known only by a small group — finally making it to the mainstream? Or are television suits using the bitcoin ‘buzzword’ for cheap publicity? After all, it does seem like every mention of bitcoin on TV programming makes it to social sharing websites some way or another.
