Team Rubicon, a non-for-profit disaster relief organization led by veterans, has launched an operation (dubbed Rising Eagle) in order to support the communities most recently affected by a deadly tornados in the state of Arkansas.
[blockquote style=”2″]The organization unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to perform a variety of services, which can include debris removal, volunteer management, damage assessment and expedient home repair. These storms continue to threaten millions of people in the United States, and Team Rubicon is urging the public to be prepared in the event the worst happens.
We know that many of our readers are in areas affected by the storms, and should consider the following:
[blockquote style=”2″]In the event of a tornado, seek shelter in the lowest level of the home–preferably a basement or storm shelter. If there is no basement, go to the center of a small interior room on the lowest level (closet, interior hallway) away from corners, windows, doors, and outside walls. Put as many walls as possible between you and the outside. Get under a sturdy table and use your arms to protect your head and neck.[/blockquote]
Team Rubicon is accepting bitcoin donations for their efforts at bitcoin.teamrubiconusa.org.
The donations are set up thanks to a partnership with BitPay, a leading digital currency payments processor.
If you’re interested in donating to the cause, you can get more information at the organization’s homepage here.
