Bitcoin marketplace Bitmit is apparently closing their doors on the 20th of December — Friday — according to a notification banner on the website’s homepage.

“Bitmit is shutting down on 2013 December 20th. We will leave the site some more days online because some users still need access! Please complete your orders and withdraw your funds asap!”

The news is rather strange, particularly because there are few details surrounding the shut down. Upon clicking the “Read more” button, very little other information is provided.
